The groom is a man of quiet strength, often reserved but with a sharp sense of humor that catches you by surprise. He loves nothing more than spending quiet moments with Sixta, whether it’s over a cup of coffee or sharing a laugh at the simplest things. His humor brings warmth to every room, even if he’s not the loudest person in it. With Sixta by his side, he’s ready to embrace whatever life throws their way, knowing that their shared moments of peace and laughter are the foundation of their journey together.
The bride, with her radiant smile and infectious laughter, is the type of person who lights up every room she enters. She's kind-hearted, quick-witted, and always ready with a joke or a thoughtful gesture to make those around her feel at ease. Sixta’s love for Rob is as deep as her collection of random adventures, each one holding a special place in her heart even if she can’t quite remember all the details. Whether she’s out on an adventure or enjoying a cold Coke, she’s the kind of woman who makes every moment feel special.
It all began in a classroom at the Alfredo M. Velayo – College of Accountancy in UST. Rob and Sixta were block mates, seated beside each other purely by alphabetical fate. At first, they were hardly more than strangers—Rob remembers that they barely spoke during class. Sixta was often on her phone, and Rob, admittedly, kept to himself. There was no instant spark, no fairy-tale moment. But what they had was something that would slowly and quietly grow. Their connection unfolded over time, grounded in shared experiences. Sitting beside each other eventually led to exchanging questions about class topics, and before long, Rob was borrowing Sixta’s notes—something he freely admits he was terrible at taking himself. With every small conversation, a quiet friendship began to take shape. Though their personalities were different, something just clicked. Rob noticed how easy it became to talk to her about anything, and how she laughed at even his corniest jokes. It felt good to be understood—to be genuinely appreciated. Their friendship deepened naturally. Conversations stretched late into the night, filled with stories they hadn’t shared with anyone else. They commuted home together after class, at first as part of a group, but eventually choosing to go just the two of them. They’d grab snacks, walk, and talk. In those ordinary, quiet moments, something extraordinary was unfolding.
Then, one day, Rob decided to speak up. On their usual walk home, he asked her to stay a while. He hadn’t planned anything special—just a simple confession of his feelings. Sixta’s reaction? A startled stare, a few pats on his back, and a slightly awkward, “Okay lang yan, okay lang yan.” It wasn’t the romantic response you’d read in a book, but it became a moment they’d never forget. Despite the awkwardness, nothing changed between them right away. They still shared their little routines and after-class adventures. It wasn’t until months later, in the summer of 2014, that they officially became a couple. Their first date was anything but perfect. Rob had envisioned a Binondo food crawl, but the day started late, they got lost on the way, and Sixta had a strict 5PM curfew. They ended up eating at the food court in Gateway Mall. Still, it didn’t matter. They were just happy to spend time together—and that “disaster” of a date? It’s now one of their favorite memories.
Over the years, their relationship blossomed through countless small moments. Ten years of shared memories, laughter, quiet support, and growing together eventually led to one of their most important milestones: their engagement. Rob proposed to Sixta on March 27, 2024, at Lake Tanuki near Mount Fuji, Japan. The proposal had been planned for the 26th, but a storm delayed everything. The next day, the weather cleared, and Rob knew it was time. He’d secretly coordinated everything—buying the ring in Pampanga with help from his sister, getting permission from Sixta’s family with the help of her brother, and keeping the proposal date a surprise. Despite months of preparation, when the moment finally came, Rob was nervous. His chest pounded, and he stumbled over his words. Sixta giggled through it all, making the moment perfectly imperfect. Their love is full of quirks, laughter, and quiet understanding. They have inside jokes they refuse to explain, bursts of chaotic energy they call “overdrive,” and an ongoing tradition of exploring new restaurants on weekends. They play games together—Sixta is now better than Rob at most of them—and in those playful rivalries, they find joy and connection.
Over time, they’ve learned how to communicate deeply and lovingly, even when they disagree. They’ve come to understand that they’re not opponents—they’re partners, working toward the same life, just from different angles. What excites them most about marriage is the simplest of things: being together at the end of every day, not having to say goodbye after weekends, and sharing a life under one roof. Their relationship, built slowly and with care, has shown them they can navigate whatever life throws their way—together. And so, from seatmates in college to life partners, Rob and Sixta’s love story continues—rooted in friendship, grown through laughter, and strengthened by the everyday magic of choosing each other, again and again.
